Hard To Believe by Dr. John MacArthur

John MacArthur is a great communicator of God’s Word. He has written many books, and has a set of commentaries he wrote as well. He has written his own study Bible, and the list goes on of work he has done. One of his books that has really inspired me, and has really helped me open my eyes to the truth of the cross is his book, “Hard To Believe”. In one section in particular, he mentions how we as humans are just pots of clay. It may sound disgusting and dirty but it’s true. If it were not for the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross we would be nothing. We are nothing but dirt and we must be nothing else but dirt, or rather, clay. Clay can be formed pretty easy can’t it? That’s all it can do, is to be formed, not on it’s own by the person holding the clay. Jesus holds the clay. Jesus holds us. He molds us and shapes us into the image that He wants. Genesis 1:26 Isaiah 45:9 states, “Woe to him who strives with him who formed him, a pot among earthen pots! Does the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’ or ‘Your work has no handles’. We are just clay, and we must not ask God what He is doing and we must submit to God, and Dr. MacArthur, in “Hard To Believe”, shows us that as hard as it may be to believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior, we must believe because it is truth.
I highly recommend this book, but don’t just take my word for it, go and read it for yourself. – Brad Ormonde Jr.
The Disappearance of God: Dangerous Beliefs in the New Spiritual Openness

I just finished reading this book, and Dr. Albert Mohler is one of the leaders in discussing relevant news within our world news from a Christian viewpoint. He has tackled many different topics such as abortion in America, gay rights, and even whether or not Christians should be fans of Twilight. He has tackled many of these topics recently and in his book, “The Disappearance of God: Dangerous Beliefs in the New Spiritual Openness”, he discusses and explains his viewpoint on topics such as pastors not teaching about the doctrine of hell because they don’t want to “offend” anyone. He does a very thorough job of understanding the subject and helps the reader understand his viewpoint and the biblical truths behind it. I highly recommend it to anyone who may have questions that are relevant to today’s culture and the arguments that surround it.
